Self Care isn't Selfish

Mental health has played a large role in my everyday life for the past several months. As a longtime sufferer of anxiety and depression, I am finding that it is more important to do what is best for myself and that at the end of the day, a timeline or a plan is just that. Timelines change and even though the plan may be put on the back-burner for an indeterminate future date, your health and wellbeing should always come first. The course will still be offered. The email will still be there tomorrow. The to-do list will always have another item. But, the relationship with yourself? That cannot and should not be set aside for some self-imposed necessity to complete every aspect of life in a regimented manner. So let the laundry sit unfolded. Let the blog post wait a day. Just be.
